First Steps
There is no substitute for personal study of the Scriptures. Specially compiled for new believers, First Steps introduces one method of personal Bible study: the inductive method. This method challenges the student to form a conclusion only after observing and analyzing the element of the immediate context and normal word meanings.
While God's plan has been to give His people pastors and teachers, there is no substitute for personal study of the Scriptures. Many have found that they get more from their teachers when they become personally involved in regular and systematic Bible study.
One method of personal Bible study is called the inductive method. This method challenges the student to form a conclusion only after observing and analyzing the element of the immediate context and normal word meanings. After asking the Author of Scripture for insight, the inductive student explores the inspired page with a pencil in hand and the curiosity of a prospector looking for something more precious than gold.
First Steps is specially compiled for new believers and includes pages on how to study the Bible in these three steps:
- Observation
- Interpretation
- Application
